I went into my interpretation of Stray without reading any reviews or analyses. Turns out, the game is not what I expected at all. There is no throwing anything 'away,' it just goes elsewhere. We often forget about all the waste hidden in our oceans.

Inspired by @gamesforwaves.bsky.social and @rethinkingfable.bsky.social, I'm finally feeling brave enough to start Compassionate Canon: a multimedia project about animals, empathy and storytelling. Such an important point. We're still struggling to recognise games as legitimate art/culture. I'm finally allowing myself to turn my research towards games after decades of assuming they weren't 'important' enough for serious analysis. Yet they were the stories that shaped me the most as a person.
