Somehow we picked the laziest ones around, because they slept a lot, yawned and stretched but did not make one sound until nightfall. When they finally did roar, it was magnificent

Stijn Demeulenaere after a particularly grueling day in the field - Sumatra, 2023. That expedition was one of the most challenging we've been on, but the sounds we captured in those rainforests are worth all the effort, sweat, insect bites, disease etc.

Good morning Istanbul! Feels odd to have running water and heat again after two weeks in the Gobi desert.
