On February 17, 2026, a new rule was issued by the Veterans Benefits Administration, describing how people applying for Veterans Disability Benefits will be evaluated. As of right now, there are approximately 350,000 people waiting to receive VA Disability Benefits.

These VA Disability Benefit applicants will be evaluated based on how they are doing while medicated and benefits will be awarded accordingly. This new rule applies to Veterans currently receiving Disability benefits for less than 20 years and Veterans who are not "permanently and totally" disabled

This drastic reduction in benefits will be catastrophic to Veterans who rely on their benefits to survive and catastrophic to the US economy.

This new rule will also be catastrophic to our Veteran's health, as they are forced to chose how to manage their disabilities acquired in the line of duty to also be sure to still qualify for the maximum benefits they have already EARNED.

The Congressional Review Act was bypassed because the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Doug Collins, decided this was too urgent to go through a 60 day wait process. The excuse is BS.
