The dust is now beginning to settle on a very busy election period. Across the country, we Liberal Democrats are on a record winning streak as voters reject the politics of hatred and division in favour of positive change and genuine community action.

Yesterday's antisemitic attack in Golders Green was deeply disturbing, and my thoughts are with the victims, their families and to the entire Jewish community.

On Monday, the Prime Minister stood in the House of Commons for nearly two and a half hours, and said on at least 12 occasions that appointing Peter Mandelson as US Ambassador was an “error of judgment”. Not once in those two hours, however, did he tell us what his error of judgment actually was.

I was appalled to see figures revealed today that show shoplifting in Cambridgeshire has nearly tripled in five years and yet only one in four cases results in a charge.

At every opportunity, I am continuing to push the Government for fair and full compensation for everyone impacted by the Infected Blood Scandal.

‼️PIP Review – Have Your Say The Govt's review into Personal Independence Payment (PIP) has announced it is now taking evidence from the public. I urge anyone affected by PIP – people claiming, their friends, family & carers, as well as organisations representing them - to contribute their views.

**Local Health Survey Results Today I am launching the results from my health survey, which shows why local health services remain my top priority and means I will continue to press the Government for vital changes in our area.

Yesterday in Parliament I was proud to back the bid for St Neots to be the #UKTownOfCulture2028.

Today I joined the charity @gingerbreadcharity.bsky.social, single parents and fellow MPs to celebrate Single Parents Day and to call on the Government to make good on its promise for urgent reforms to the Child Maintenance Service (CMS).

To mark #YoungCarersActionDay yesterday, I met with a really impressive group of young people to listen to how they are campaigning for proper support in schools for young carers, and the need for more funding so they don’t miss out on education because of their responsibilities at home.

Last week I had a fascinating visit to @nyobolt.bsky.social, an Impington-based company, which builds super-fast charging, high power, and long cycle-life lithium-ion batteries. It's a shining example of the world-class innovation that defines the Cambridge ecosystem.

I was delighted to celebrate with Cambridge Regional College and St Neots Citizen Hub after they won an award for excellence at the Association of Colleges (AoC) Beacon Awards in Parliament yesterday.

I am concerned to see the escalation of conflict in the Middle East, and that the UK has allowed the US to use its bases for strikes on Iran. No matter how the Prime Minister tries to redefine offensive as defensive, this is a mistake.

February has been LGBTQ+ month, where we reflect on the achievements of campaigners throughout history, and celebrate the huge contribution that so many LGBTQ+ people make to our society and communities.

Today, the Liberal Democrats successfully forced the Government to publish all files relating to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s appointment as trade envoy back in 2001.

I know many parents have been anxiously awaiting today’s announcement of the Government’s proposals to reform the SEND system, and nearly every week I hear from families across St Neots and Mid Cambridgeshire who are having to fight exhausting battles to get the right support for their children.

It was a real pleasure to meet with the impressive members of the deaf health charity @signhealth.bsky.social Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and their interpreters in Parliament yesterday to discuss issues facing young deaf people.

I know that people are frightened, fed up, and spending far too much money on car repairs due to potholes and subsidence in our roads across Cambridgeshire.

It's National Apprenticeship Week and it was great to meet my constituent Jamie Forbes in Parliament and hear about his electrical apprenticeship at Marshals in Cambridgeshire.

Today after many months delay, the Government finally published its National Cancer Plan. We welcome its publication - especially as it is World Cancer Day - but so much more needs to be done to support cancer patients now and in the future, as well as boost research and prevention screening.

Last night I spoke against the Government's plans to change settlement rules for visa holders, urging Ministers not to move the goalposts for those who have already invested so much to be here in the UK.

Today is Holocaust Memorial Day where we remember the six million Jewish men, women and children murdered in the Holocaust, and all victims of Nazi persecution.

This week my Cambridgeshire Lib Dem colleagues @charlotte-cane-mp.bsky.social @pippaheylings.bsky.social and I met with the Minister for Social Care and the ICB CEO to challenge the decision not to fund the beds under threat of closure at @arthurrankhospice.bsky.social (ARH).

I was delighted to visit Paines Mill housing project in St Neots to help celebrate its 30th anniversary and hear about the positive work it does in our community.

Yesterday I met with the organisation f40, which represents the 43 lowest funded councils for education in England and campaigns for reform of the funding system and SEND education.

Following months of campaigning, I am delighted that today @arthurrankhospice.bsky.social announced it has secured enough funding from public donations to keep all its beds open for the next 12 months.

So we have yet another U-turn from the Government, which has finally seen sense and scrapped its doomed plans to introduce mandatory Digital ID cards. This is something the @libdems.org.uk and I have long been calling for.

We have heard hints from the Government that it plans to reduce the business rates for pubs. But now is the time to cut rates for all high street businesses – something I and the @libdems.org.uk have long been calling for.

On Saturday, I held one of my regular in-person surgeries - this week in Cambourne. I hold surgeries every week, both online and across St Neots and Mid Cambs, where constituents can arrange to meet with me to discuss particular issues concerning them.

Happy New Year to everyone in St Neots and Mid Cambridgeshire. It was great to start off the new year by continuing to speak to residents on their (very frosty!) doorsteps.

As we head into the Christmas period, my team and I will be taking a short break from today (Christmas Eve). Rest assured that all messages sent to me at to [email protected] will be dealt with from Monday 29th December.

Existing communities within the Oxford Cambridge Growth Corridor must be able to actively participate in and benefit from housing growth, rather than simply absorbing its pressures. That's the point that I stressed in a debate on the Government's 'Ox-Cam Growth Corridor' ambitions last week.

The Government has identified Tempsford as one of its top three priority sites for a new town, and I know many people are concerned about the increased strain this would put on local infrastructure and services here in St Neots unless serious action is taken.
