I'm deeply concerned to hear of the Government's decision to cut funding for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) from the academic year 2026 to 2027 in state schools. Please see here my statement on this.

Today, alongside my Lib Dem colleague @charlotte-cane-mp.bsky.social MP, I visited the @arthurrankhospice.bsky.social saw the wonderful facilities, and met with Deputy CEO Sara Robins. The hospice is set to lose almost £1 million in funding next year, leading to a loss of 9 out of its 23 beds.

I too am shocked and saddened by the horrific attack outside Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Manchester today. That this happened on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, makes it all the more appalling.

I am utterly dismayed at the news that the Arthur Rank Hospice @arthurrankhospice.bsky.social, which provides such important care to people across my constituency, is facing a huge funding cut which could lead to it closing 9 out of 23 beds and increasing pressure on demand for hospital beds.

Across the country, communities are being held back by a lack of access to training. @IanSollom.bsky.social explains the Lib Dems’ new lifelong learning plan that will unlock potential, fix the skills shortages, and put opportunity at the heart of our economy.

I have received many concerned emails today about the Government's plans for compulsory digital ID. Liberal Democrats have always stood up for people’s freedom and privacy, so we have launched a petition calling on the Government to cancel its plans for mandatory digital ID. 👇

The NHS is my top priority. And with so many constituents contacting me about problems they are having with health services, I have launched an online health survey to find out more about the issues people are facing and to raise these with the Government to bring about much needed change.

Yesterday, at the Liberal Democrat Party Conference, I spoke in favour of a policy motion titled 'Never Again: Justice for Contaminated Blood Victims'.

As Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Universities and Skills, this weekend at party conference I launched our bold, long-term plan to close skills gaps, boost growth, and help people turn their potential into success.

This week, my Liberal Democrat colleagues and I have once again called on the Chancellor to end the cruel two-child benefit cap. It's a single change that would help so many families, and we will continue to push for this until the Government does what is right.

I constantly receive messages from constituents about the poor service they are experiencing on trains to and from London. Commuting to Westminster from St Neots each week myself, I know how frustrating constant delays and cancellations can be.

Following last week’s announcement that rail fares are set to increase by nearly 6 per cent next year, my fellow Cambridgeshire Lib Dem MPs and I were featured in The Hunts Post and Cambridge Independent.

Since the UK Supreme Court’s ruling, I have received many messages from constituents who are concerned about the rights of trans people. I too am concerned by reports of rising discrimination as well as confusion over the ruling’s interaction with the Gender Recognition Act.

In my regular slot on Black Cat Radio yesterday, I spoke about the Liberal Democrat call for an urgent investigation into water contamination in NHS hospitals, following news of a six-figure payout recently in the case of nine patients at the Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge.

This summer, I have spent time visiting businesses across the constituency to hear about the outstanding work they are doing locally and worldwide.

Today, 15th August, marks the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan (VJ) Day. Despite the war ending in Europe in May 1945, the fierce fighting continued in the east but did not receive the same level of press or public attention.

Further to my statement earlier this week on the situation in Gaza, I have now joined my Liberal Democrat colleagues in pressing the Government to do more. The suffering in Gaza must end.

Today Liberal Democrat Leader Ed Davey and Education Spokesperson Munira Wilson wrote to the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Education regarding the Government’s plans for SEND reform. Ed also raised the issue in Prime Minister's Questions.

I was delighted to support 90 year old Joe Wallace this week as he started his virtual walk from John O’Groats to Lands End - a total of 874 miles. 🚶

On Sunday I joined the Friends of Paxton Pits Nature Reserve and local councillors for a walk through the beautiful, varied wildlife habitats which cover 78 hectares.

Today it was a pleasure to visit the staff and pupils at Round House Primary Academy in St Neots. It is Career and Aspirations Week in the school and I was asked some interesting questions by Years 5 and 6 around working as an MP.

Yesterday, the Government announced that free school meals are to be rolled out to all children whose families are in receipt of Universal Credit. It's a policy that the Liberal Democrats have been campaigning for over many years, so I am pleased the Government finally listened.
