We played Yokohama for #boardgames night. My first play since 2019, and I squeaked in a win by a very narrow margin.

One "advantage" of living eight stories up? My building is a lever--I feel earthquakes. Which are few and minor in this region of the world. Late last night there was obviously an earthquake. The apartment was "surging" or "rocking" for about ten seconds. But I couldn't find proof last night.

#ttrpg I've been in the Tuesday group for over 15 years, but I think I'm stepping down. The current GM's style is not to my taste and honestly it has me acting up in session and being a negative value to the group. I'm not super-proud of that, but at least I realize that it's happening? Oh well.

My hottest (and possibly most misguided) take. Gumball Rally (1976) is a better movie than Cannonball Run (1981)--both being fictional tales of different real world "illegal" cross-America races. That used to be a thing, I guess.

Ordered groceries last night. For the second time in the last several months the "head of lettuce" I asked for was cabbage. Twice the size and four times the weight. Yes I'm an ethnic Lutonian, and cabbage rolls and coffee are our national dish. (Mmm, mmm good!) BBut I wanted lettuce!

In more depressing game news, our current Tuesday night GM is absolutely giddy about his gonzo game world. It’s twice as gonzo as his last one and he obviously loves it. Judging by the expressions and actions of the group he is the only one.

My next character is going to be a Cavalier who rides a Pushmepullyou. (Probably doable in RuneQuest).

Home River? Niagara Falls was my birth place and the Niagara is my river. At night, back when I was young, you could hear the roar of the falls. Majestic and wild, surrounded by natural beauty and massive power generators. AS a kid America wasn't south of us it was east of us, across the Niagara.

Short two #ttrpg players today. So we parked our Beyond the Wall game and played a second session of the Space Salvage RPG I whipped up based on Over the Edge. Short session but after missing some over the holidays it's good to get back on the (space) horse. Owlbear Rodeo as a dice play-mat only.

Me: Let's avoid eye-strain today. Computer: Let's open pdfs so the text is approximately 4 points high. Me: Bigger please. Computer: OK. Me: Next document. Computer: We have chosen the new default of 4 point high text for your reading inconvenience. Me: Ow. My eyes hurt!

The art in Hearts of Ravendale, the setting book for the rustic fantasy Legend in the Mist ttrpg is wonderful and evocative and everything I would want it to be. I've been very impressed with everything so far.
