#boardgames A couple 3 player rounds of Space Base (Machikoro in Space) last night, a light game that I really enjoy. (Won one of the games).

We recently "lost" a rental battle with our corporate landlords--quotations included as the adjusted above-provincial-rental-control-amount was a fraction lower than the originally applied increases. But my rent goes down $10 (about 1%) a month over the past few years. So... ...kind of a win?

#ttrpg Ran Session 1 of our new L5R5 game today. Good: Wonderful to return to a familiar world. Indifferent: Still getting used to the wonky dice. Bad: One of my players bounced off the system and withdrew from the campaign, which makes me sad. Still, everyone seems to have a good time today.

#ttrpg Bitten by a Rolemaster bug this weekend. Convos about using *all* the rules (Exhaustion Points? We *never* used Exhaustion Points). Man. I don't know how I ever ran this. And I didn't just run it, from the late 80s to the mid 90s it was my preferred game!

Folks on their way to my dad's 90th B-day celebration stopped by Hungarian bakeries to buy walnut and poppy-seed kalács! (Kolach for most of eastern Europe). So many in fact that I didn't feel at all guilty about grabbing a couple slices of each to take home (there were still 4 untouched loaves).

#ttrpg I get a sinking feeling in my GM bits when I pitch a game and all the players gravitate to the most out of concept character ideas. I am sure for the upcoming Samurai game the proposed Were-Moose was just to get me all revved up and the actual character will be less Moose-like. Maybe 27%.

I haven't posted for days. I am sorry if I am contributing to the Bluesky-is-dying conversation. New news: My head is cold. My apartment is not cold. That is weird.

My first Regimental Mess Dinner as a non-drinker. Surprisingly, my energy level stayed up (so did I, way past bedtime) and of course it was great to see all my old friends again.

I arrived 10 minutes ahead of schedule for the bus. The bus is now 10 minutes late. Mild concern. (And I no longer have the knees to say “fug it I’ll walk.”)

Didn't watch it back then. I picked my way through Succession one or two episodes at a time, culminating in the finale tonight. Tense, uncomfortable, sad, funny, and a modern tragedy (in the play sense, not the plane crash sense). Glad I watched that.
