Artist Cat Lees won the Guernsey Arts Open Judge's Choice 2024 with her oil painting "Skimming". Cat is currently studying for a BA Hons in Fine Art at AUB. Cat's strong connection to water is a recurring motif in her work. We look forward to watching all that this Island artist achieves 🌊✨

The Guernsey Arts Open brings together artists of all ages. It's really great to see the percentage of student submissions rising each year. Our guest judge always awards an Under 18 prize at the Open. This year, this was awarded to Eleanor Whittaker - congratulations Eleanor! ✨

9 years ago, no prize money, but my poem on a bus in Guernsey. My cousin lives in Guernsey and read my poem for me at the Poems on the Move prize ceremony. My grandad was once a bus conductor who read poetry to his kids. If I peaked with this so be it. 🥰
