Got to get some transit geeking in while in western NY. I’ve always wanted to see this line as it’s the most Green Line-esque post WW2 system. Also: the Tokyu cars have the same “faces” as our retired Boeing LRVs & the same Westinghouse propulsion as our 7s. Definitely enjoyed this little detour.

Marathon Monday is the Green Line’s busiest day of the year. Between the race, a game at Fenway, MA250 celebrations and more, Boston was out and about today. I am so proud of my crews for their commitment to excellence in moving our city. #MBTA

Things that make you go “hmm” 🤔: if William Dawes comes upon a streetcar at Fenwood Road or Mission Park, does he stop for the open doors? I mean, the British are coming! #MA250 #MBTA

In 2020, we fought to save the Mission Hill Streetcar from service cuts - and won!!! Now, we’re working to improve and preserve it. Better signage and road markings will make the stations more defined for Streetcar Motorpersons and motorists while also improving safety for our passengers.

Yesterday, stakeholders from the MBTA, Boston, & DPU went to look at the street running stops between Brigham Circle $ Heath Street. As Delegate, I’ve advocated for upgraded signage & road markings in the interim before the Huntington Ave redesign. Happy to make some progress on this!

These are essential to public safety. And given the number of large scale outages (AWS, Verizon, etc), we need to keep our tried and true fire boxes working.

Yesterday was the 1st time the City has done large-scale daytime snow removal—holding the parking ban to give crews max space to work. Across daytime & overnight, we hauled away almost 1500 truckloads of snow (25,000+ cubic yds) to clear main roads & school zones. TY to our hardworking City teams 🙏
