They do but the process of doing a well structured Talking Mat often supports understanding. It helps breaks meaning into bite sized chunks and a skilled listener can give their thinker increased coherence to a conversation. The framework scaffolds comprehension & reduces processing load

'DLD and me' is a useful tool for deepening understanding of self. From this self advocacy can grow. One student made a list of strategies to give to supply teachers. But these strategies need to be personalised #DevLangDis #NAPLIC25
