New research in
@nature.com
concludes that burning trees and capturing the carbon doesn't give you any "negative emissions". Cutting down the forests actually means less CO2 absorbed. Confirms finding of previous NRDC study:

A number of scientists have written to the world's leading scientific body on climate change. They're warning that the way emissions are counted from burning trees for electricity is majorly flawed. It's harming the climate and forests.

With oil prices now consistently exceeding $100 a barrel, new @ECIU_UK analysis suggests that at this price UK farmers could pay an additional £337m a year to run their tractors, combine harvesters and other machinery, if prices were to remain elevated.

Around 8 years ago I started listening to

podcast and it turned my life around. I went from vegetarian to plant-based. I started running - half a mile to begin with. Yesterday I did something I never dreamed I could. I ran a trail marathon on my local hills.

In a new series we're exploring different renewable energy sources. First up is clean, green, totally 100% sustainable (don't worry, we asked Drax) BIOENERGY. For those who don't know, that's... *checks notes* burning trees in power stations. 🌳🔥
