A blood marker may help separate 2 conditions that can look very similar. A new paper in ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ found PDGF-BB differed between major depressive disorder and bipolar depression during acute episodes, with longitudinal changes also seen in bipolar disorder. ๐ฐ

This short communication is already out! PDGF-BB could serve as a diagnostic biomarker for distinguishing MDD from BD during acute states, while accounting for clinical confounders
