So I just finished playing Arco by @arcogamedev.bsky.social . It was recommended to me and wow does it live up to its recommendation. It's a wonderful game with exquisite pacing, beautiful art, fun gameplay, thrilling story and a great soundtrack.

I used to play LoL until the Linux version was exterminated. But recently found Wild Rift. I'd still rather be able to play on PC though but it's nice there's another option..

Hi @gamingonlinux.com , I noticed the post on the Gamedevs doing Linux list, and wondered if I could be added? I'm the dev behind EternAlgoRhythm, and my dev environment is in Linux, so it's a platform I always try to support.

While trying to solve a combinatorics question, it became natural to name an object "The Omega Shadow". It sounded like a Sonic character but it seems Omega is already a character, so we may tragically never have the Omega version of Shadow the Hedgehog.

I finally had time to play #ProPhilosopher2 . I really loved the first game back in the Flash games era. I was so pleasantly surprised to see its sequel's demo on the same Next Fest as my first pro game. And the game is pretty awesome. If you like philosophy do check it out!

I've been thinking about adding leaderboards to my game. I'm a bit concerned about how to deal with potential cheaters, assuming I somehow manage to detect them. How would you deal with cheaters, specifically when the only multiplayer aspect is a score leaderboard?

I have to say the new Zelda Echoes of Wisdom feels like a great TLoZ-Pokemon hybrid. You go around catching monsters, and some monsters hard-counter others. But then there's dungeons too.

I find it really interesting that Lego are actively working to preserve their history. Whereas the large players in the games industry are, at best, letting it be lost, and at worst, actively destroying it.

So I think it's nice to remember that games are culture, and as #gamedev s we advance and reshape culture, perhaps in a small way, though sometimes unexpectedly in big ways (many of us remember Flappy Bird, for instance). Anyways I quite like using #Godot.

An aspect of game localization I didn't really appreciate until now is how hard it is to find pixel fonts for all the different scripts that roughly match the aesthetic you're going for. A lot of compromises have to be made. #gamedev #indiedev #solodev #i18n #BevyEngine

As a #solodev, some advantages of working on your own: 🛠 you get to choose your tools, 🔮 you can use as much "black magic" as you want, 🧭 you get to do a little bit of everything, 🪅 you really get a full picture of how everything fits together.

I was at Natural Motion when this launched, but was too busy to go to the launch party. Apparently everyone entering the venue was saluted by a regiment of storm troopers on parade, and Chewbacca was the DJ.

So I just learnt about the `@export_custom` tags in #Godot . Some of them are super useful, you can make Arrays of Arrays of types in the inspector with it, and there's one to make multiline strings use a monospace font with extra syntax highlighting. Some really cool stuff.
