I see some concerns raised about Godot's policy on contributions using AI. TL;DR: Godot isn't vibe-coded. As a whole, the Godot foundation and maintainers are fairly critical of AI usage, and don't make nor accept vibe-coded contributions. Godot doesn't include AI features nor intends to add any.

The absolute worst writing trend in the last 10 years or so: characters talking to themselves/commenting the scene during gameplay. Cut that shit out, it's embarrassing. It's never funny, it's never witty. It's just annoying. Writers who do that should have their license revoked.

I think it's wise to take some time to really understand what parts of the world actually need to be explained. If that gauge is not working or not calibrated you can easily fall into the trap of wanting to explain everything. Teaching history helped me with this. It's remarkably similar in a sense.

I agree with this for aesthetic reasons. As a former pixel artist this is my biggest gripe. I have this irrational aversion to mixelart (as it is known) because it reminds me of flash games and the like. I think it's unprofessional. It triggers the same part of my brain as this image.

I don't really follow the game awards but I curiously looked up the award categories. I was kinda surprised that they don't have categories for technical innovation. That's really odd to me because games are such a technical medium. Maybe they don't like reading technical research papers.
