July 8 1997, Dark Rift debuted on the N64 in the Americas! Dark Rift is notable for being the first N64 game to use 60 frames per second and is commonly referenced as the Nintendo 64's first native fighting game... though it was first developed for the Sega Saturn (and then later cancelled)!
