Tuesday last week I passed my PhD viva, with my thesis titled: "Optimising antibiotics in the Spanish public hospital: Professional belonging, collective consciousness and power at the edge of intervention" Replying to all the well wishing messages I received, it's slowly sinking in, it's done! :)

We're starting day 4 of the strike with Jack the cat's full support. He also says that this is a manufactured crisis because there is no deficit at the University of Edinburgh. Clever cat.

Months of sitting down across a laptop screen certainly take their toll on the body. 3 weeks of unbelievable Orcadian sunshine definitely helped unwind post-thesis writing.

In other news. About a month has passed since the thesis submission. How?! I'm about to finish knitting "the thesis jumper," I've swam in the North Sea... But also fully beaten up in the Scottish battles between humans and midges (Not sure if we'll win this one.) Not a bad place to be! :P
