A little acting choice I love in this scene where Hamazaki gives Majima the unsolicited shoulder rub is how he drifts down into the frame completely in profile, and then swivels his head around to face Majima as a completely separate action, it has this uncanny inhuman quality, like a shark

Okay so stick with me here, but the challenge was “make Hamazaki/Nishiki work” and the solution we brainstormed on discord was “Gangster shit was Hamazaki’s exit strategy from a porn career he was aging out of, sad 1996 Nishiki recognizes him in a bar and immediately tries to pretend he doesn’t” 🖊️🦑

I was super bummed yesterday when I was disappointed about the Hamazaki redesign and people were immediately telling me “well he didn’t have a fandom anyway” as though “having a fandom” is the measure of a character, but I’m very heartened waking up to tons of people being like “wtf he’s boring now”

Bruh what the hell did they do to Hamazaki? They took one of the most unique character designs in the game and turned him into Substory NPC #107

People like “well I don’t care about this character it’s not a big deal they changed him, why do you care, at least he’s not ugly anymore” like cool… but I did care? I’m disappointed because I thought the ugly design had fun personality. If you don’t care why are you telling me how to feel about it?
