I made a point of not using Gen AI for our podcast art. I sought out an artist and shared with them my idea and paid for their work. Gen AI is soulless. Good art is worth paying for and good artists are worth supporting.

Generative ai has hurt the art community so so badly. Some of us quit, some younger artists changed course to pursue other things, our work is stolen, devalued, and god forbid you are accused of making something that looks ai.

It's a combination of spite and determination. We need art, ESPECIALLY in the face of everything. Fascism? Fight it with art, they hate art. AI? Fight it with real, human art. Fight it ALL with uplifting art that inspires people to love instead. As an artist, you have the capability to inspire!

I wish the average person would get as outraged over AI and machine translation as they seem to over AI art. Both are art. Both take skill and years of study/training.

Support human artists.
