I’m very grateful to law enforcement for responding to these threats quickly. As Americans, we must reject this pattern of violence and do our part to turn the temperature down. Political differences must never lead to violence, and pointing fingers only stokes more hatred and threatens lives.

Community projects get done when we roll up our sleeves, put politics aside, and come together. That’s what happened with the Southern Lakes Water Extension Project, which will bring clean drinking water to the residents and businesses throughout Genesee County.

It’s absolutely essential that folks have access to safe, clean drinking water. On our first stop of this year’s motorcycle tour, I saw how federal funding is helping Fenton Township connect more folks to safe municipal water after high levels of arsenic were detected in the water supply.

On Friday, I helped celebrate the opening of a brand-new gate and entrance facility at Battle Creek Air National Guard Base. This upgrade, supported by funding I worked to secure, will enhance safety and security for the servicemembers that operate on the base.
