I have a semi working gifdex preview build (it is not stablised apart from the core records), if any close oomfs wanna come port over some of their data I'm open to dming a link

It's not perfect yet but the loading shimmer exits earlier by loading a really low quality static of the gif until the original is ready Obviously when the media is actually cached by the cdn or browser both the shimmer and sometimes the preview can just be skipped over

ok thats plenty fast for moving tenor gifs over

a lot of these pages need a bit of polish for loading states but overall this is really usable now

this ended up pretty cute and saves are working nicely now .. time to do the create post page since then i can release a demo to friends :3

To update on where we’re at: - Media processing pipeline for cdn is pretty much prepared now - The ingest code has been cleaned up and optimised - The frontends design and colour scheme is finished - Branding is still WIP - Lexicon schemas for xrpc endpoints are still being finalised too

Gifdex will be using this as a base for our blob CDN and will be taking full advantage of the policy service to do content takedowns at the CDN layer c:

honestly i think i could have something ready to release by march at this rate considering ive got this far in about a week and a bit most of this (minus homepage) is pulling live data from my appview/cdn and core functionality like likes/upload/etc are all mostly functional now

yea this is way better than putting the profile info at the top

toying around with profile layouts, I think I'm almost happy the gif display but the rest of the profile needs work (testing on actual appview responses from real processed records now with images loaded via my own cdn)

okay the appview/api for @gifdex.net is pretty much in a working state now so it's time to actually get to work on making a site

got a bit distracted working on a tap client but im onto the cdn stuff for gifs next also finally picked out a domain for lexicons, will all be under @gifdex.net when done
