Tests have been interesting. I got two SATA to IDE adapters: 1. JM20330 EVB-002-3. 2. StarTech Marvell SS8A8052. For my 440BX motherboard, I havent noticed yet any practical difference between the two. The Marvell did pass a valid checksum, but Windows XP still didn't recognize the fanxiang S101.

After upgrading my Baby-AT build 10 ago with an ASUS P2B-B motherboard, I could no longer boot Linux. The latest BIOS doesn't detect more than 128 GiB and GRUB fails. I got a SATA SSD fanxiang S101 128 GB coupled with a JM20330 SATA to IDE converter but Windows XP doesn't see the drive.

I want to upgrade the GPU in the Pentium III build and I was looking at MX440. There seems to be a lot of different variations and I'm not sure what to look for to get a good one. 8 RAM chips might be a hint. Anything else?

I was hoping the new 990 PRO firmware would solve a strange issue where 7z Test Archive Checksum tops at 750 MB/s, but it's still the same. The same files Test at ~1700 MB/s on SN850X.

For the next part of the PowerMac G4, I bought this PCI SATA card. I wasn't happy with a cheap SATA to IDE adapter which caused a lot of headaches, so I wanted to try something different. I chose this one because it has the same chipset as a PCI SATA card made for PowerMac called Sonnet Tempo.

I wanted to get an ATI PowerMac GPU for the PowerMac G4 since the default on mine was an Nvidia which doesn't play well with Linux, but they're non-existent or expensive, and I finally found this broken ATI Radeon 9000 Pro for PowerMac for 3€. Upon testing, it shows graphic glitches.

I swapped the voltage regulator on the motherboard to accept Pentium III Coppermine CPUs. Original HIP6019CB only goes down to 1.8V. Since Coppermines are 1.65-1.75V, the board would refuse to boot. New HIP6019BCB goes down to 1.3V.

Aprendiendo a modificar y customizar modelos 3D en Bambu Studio, con consejillos de @gateta.systems . Easier than I thought....customizando ahora un stand para dos mandos de N64. El rosa frontal es un placeholder donde irá la placa en la foto 3 (los colores de la misma se van a modificar, claro).

I couldn't figure this one out today, but I can trigger the freeze every time with "modprobe raid6_pq". It doesn't freeze when doing it booted with clearcpuid=25 (via grub, disable SSE).

I just threw a Pentium III Coppermine in a slotket into my Pentium II PC (440EX) to see what would happen and it booted and now I'm like "I could do this all this time??"

I bought this RTL8169SC PCI card to have Gigabit Ethernet on my Pentium II PC but it doesn't work at all. I think it's only 3.3V despite having two keys, so it's not universal. I have to see if I can fix it by adding a voltage regulator.
