I am proposing a compromise with Jia over the DNR. I will agree to the use of the AED to restart my heart if needed, but without chest compressions. If I develop progressive disease then the consent to the AED will be withdrawn. I will also agree to a pacemaker if Dr thinks necessary.

I am stressed about Miss P's reaction to my having a DNR .This is a problem I cannot solve for her, she needs to face it and think it through, and with her smart analytical mind I am sure she will. The feelings are hard though. I have not slept a wink. Think I will go for a run in the night air.

So Miss P is angry that I have a DNR, has this idea that though she is 20yrs younger and has a ten year longer life expectancy I will live as long as she does. Not impossible but a fantasy. Dealing with this is hard for her. Not the only thing she needs to be real about our relationship.

So my turn to tell you about Miss P. She is in her 30s though she looks younger. US citizen for 6 years. Has two masters degrees (world history / geopolitics) and writes for a Chinese language think tank. She goes around the house in shorts and tshirt with her hair all a mess and looks stunning.
