I played a game of , ‘Twas the Night, the Christmas themed game I made for my family. It went well, they loved the guessing game when you pass go and the set collection.

The board for ‘Twas the Night, is done. I’m not super happy with the colours but it’s better than black and white.

Second street coloured, unfortunately I don’t have any light brown markers so I tried pointalism with the dark brown, it’s meh. When you take a Christmas cookie card there is a festive dad joke that you say out loud to score on a track.

I’m colouring the board for ‘Twas the Night, today. That’s the name of the Christmas game I’m working on.

I got to playtest the game last night and it does work. The goal of the game is to lift everyone’s Christmas spirit. I wish I took some pictures, I always get caught up and forget to take pictures. It looks great on the table even though there is little colour and it is very prototypy.

I made all the cards and the chits for my Christmas themed game. The board is out for printing, it’s just being printed black & white on paper. I just need to make the custom dice and the Christmas cards which will have a dry erase board and each players scoring formula.

I’m making a game to play with my family at Christmas. They know monopoly and they enjoy Cards against Humanity. I decided to base the game around those 2 games. I’ve been working on it for 3 days and will start on prototype later today. I’ll share more as it goes, happy holidays!

The Witcher old world solo, Defeat! I beat the Legendary Monster but I ran out of cards so I drove it off, unfortunately it only had two move cards left so I lost. I should have waited one more turn and grabbed a couple more cards, plus my cards didn’t combo so well.

Look what I got in today! A bit of a delivery delay but it all worked out. Fate of Witches: The Coven Building Game, unboxing. I know nothing about the game, I bought it because of the card art.

Since my Game is called War Canoe I took some pics of the Bill Reid Canoe in Vancouver and the canoe at the Digby island airport in Prince Rupert. I’ll use them for references in the card art, I’m working on the game today.

Last week in Vancouver I went to MOA at UBC I looked at a beautiful Chilkat robe and saw a book by my friend Eugenia Kisin with my sculpture “fall of man on the cover. I then went to @vancouverplaytest.bsky.social and showed my game War Canoe

Last Tuesday night I was part of a round table on Indigenous storytelling through play. I talked about storytelling in boardgame design. The other 2 panelists talked about it from a video game perspective. It was a fun night. I showed 3Ravenz, War Canoe and Feral Cat Frenzzi. 3 very different games

I just got back from Vancouver, I did some talking and some play testing, it was excellent. I also saw some art, I feel like I’m ready to reconnect with the art world and I feel invigorated by the board game design community. It was a great trip, more photos will follow.

This game is called, Feral Cat Furenzzi, it is a 2 to 6 player family game that plays in about 20 minutes. Players take turns placing cat cards until they are ready to play a capture card and catch up to 4 cats. The player with the most points wins!

This game is called War Canoe, formally Oolicon City. It’s an hand building, action selection, combo, order fulfillment, area majority with end game scoring race game. I’m going to play test this new iteration based on past play tests.

I played Blood on the Clock Tower tonight, I was the recluse (which is basically my life). Meh, it wasn’t for me, we had 12 people so it was a full game, but accusing people, being accused, it wasn’t my jam.
