In the group led by @T_vd_Valk, we are developing a user-friendly pipeline and a series of databases that will allow researchers to disentangle these mixed data samples.

The data obtained from shotgun sequencing of eDNA, however, will contain genetic information from many organisms and can pose a bioinformatic challenge to disentangle what sequences come from which species.

#EnvironmentalDNA is genetic material that is shedded by organisms into the environment and it can provide us with a way of monitoring biodiversity without actually seeing or capturing the species present.
