Before my store visit at Folklore Bookshop, I am visiting seniors at a local high school. I'm going to discuss publishing paths and tips on writing a book to a YA Lit class and a Creative Writing class. I love visiting schools!

My wife and I introduced our daughters to Rocky last night. Such an amazing movie. After it ends, our oldest says, "Wow that was sigma." 🤣 Now they want to see the sequels.

I'm knee-deep in the copy edits for my next novel, BEHIND THE GLASS, planned for release later this year on November 10th from Blackstone Publishing. I cannot wait to talk more about this one.

Writing a book is already tough enough. You don't need to be tough on yourself. You're an artist, you're expressing yourself or exploring an idea. Have fun with it, and take pleasure in the act of creation!

This has been one of the most fun and gratifying weeks of my life. A complete trilogy! Out there on bookshelves, in the hands of readers, or in their earbuds. I'm so happy to share my stories with you all!

Almost lost in an unforgettable week for me is a fun, small thing that happened at school... I was walking with a colleague through the hallways to the copy room when an aide breezed past from the library to deliver a copy of AMONG SERPENTS to a student who just checked it out. 😀

I just have to say, signing a complete book trilogy for a reader is as special of a feeling as I hoped it would be.

The DOWNFALL tour continues! I had an incredible time at Poppy Books in Spanish Fork, Utah last night and we had a full room! I left a few extra signed copies as well as DOWNFALL pins and monster coins and bookmarks! Up next is The Printed Garden in Sandy, Utah on March 27th.

One of my students stayed after school to talk about DOWNFALL. Apparently, yesterday after school, he biked to B&N to snatch a copy and he's already 300 pages in. He gave me fan art, too. 😀

Tip for writers doing author events/signings. Make a quote book of your favorite quotes from your books. Last night, someone asked for one for DOWNFALL and it took too long to come up with a favorite. So, this morning, I made this quote book with all my favorite lines!

Last night's launch event for DOWNFALL was incredible! Thank you to all who came. The King's English was a wonderful host, and I had a blast reading a deleted scene from SKY'S END that I wrote a decade ago. I signed extra copies for the shop. Order online or drop in! Together, we rise!

DOWNFALL is now available, and the Above the Black trilogy is complete! I first dreamed up the Skylands eleven years ago, and I hoped that one day I could turn it into a series. I cannot tell you how incredible it is knowing I am now an author of a trilogy.

Just finished all my pre-release signings for DOWNFALL. Nine bookstores here in Utah. DOWNFALL releases tomorrow. I am so ready!

Second time visiting Florida, and first time seeing a living alligator out in the wild. Last time, it was roadkill and a man was scooping it up with a shovel.

One of my favorite moments from the Southwest Florida Readers Festival today was that during my panel, I made eye contact with a young fan in the audience and she immediately smiled and raised her copy of SKY'S END. 😀 She was one of the first in line to get her book signed afterward.

Authors, please don't message other authors and lie and claim that they promised to give your new book a shout out to celebrate the release.
