I've been having a rough time lately. I won't get into specifics. Instead, I'll share a passage from the best book I've read this year, "Piranesi". This is dedicated to any of you who've been struggling as I have.

The fact that almost 100% of the Trump's efforts have been spent attacking the vulnerable—trans people, immigrants, and Medicaid patients—and none has been spent attacking billionaires than shows just how much of a bully and a coward he is.

As much as I fucking hate the disgusting things that this administration is doing instead of, I don't know, CONTROLLING INFLATION LIKE HE "PROMISED," I want to remind my trans siblings that our community has been through worse before. Much worse. We'll get through this too, together.

Yesterday, I had a text convo with some friends because we're all feeling a bit shitty. I don't know if this will help anyone, but I said what I said as much for myself as for anyone else. I can't speak for everyone, but auditory overload for me is a sort of omniscient deafness. I hear everything, but all at once and at the same volume, so it's like I'm not hearing anything at all.

An old lady told me, unprompted and without warning, that l was lovely today at work. Lady, you can't just be handing out compliments willie-nillie. Your girl worked really hard on her eyeliner this morning, and now she's about to cry. Tears of joy, sure, but the eyeliner, dammit!

Being depressed is like being dipped in hot wax and then being asked to walk ten miles. At first, when the wax is still hot, it may hurt, but it's not in and of itself difficult. Then the wax starts to solidify and the strength it takes to move grows.

Next up is the Power Broker by Robert A. Caro. This book is an epic, both in length and scope. With the audiobook clocking in at over 66 hours, it's an immense undertaking. But it's worth it. Trust me. #booksky #books

Just finished listening to Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman. Overall, I'd say it was pretty good. Well written for the most part, but too repetitive at times. There were hints at an emotional core to the story, but it still didn't hit that transcendent resonance I was hoping for.

Because I love Bloodborne and wanted to know what it would be like to visit central Yharnam for the first time.

So today wasn't great, but I did get a good laugh earlier at work. I had a nonbinary patient come through the line wearing a sweater with "husband/wife" printed on it. I said I liked their sweater. They thanked me and said, "I'm not even married."

My absolute favorite pizza place is PIZZERIA(tm) at the end of ROAD STREET. I especially love how the sun sets behind its edifice and magically transforms into a supreme pizza.
