I've long argued that MDPI's commercial practices aren't all that different to the other big commercial publishers, but it's still funny to see Springer Nature "literally carbon copying MDPI titles β just pricing them lower to lure scientists in".

This collaboration with Gwladys Bertin (IRD Paris) was started 12 years ago, it's finally published! We tracked P. falciparum in kids with severe malaria & found that new haplotypes emerge after treatment begins - missed at admission!

Nature has built its business on unpaid reviewers and now writes an article about unpaid labor in academia⦠How ironic.

OK, here is my very first tweet (or whatever sound a butterfly makes?). I'd like to publish a dataset of P.f. PacBio genomes. "Scientific Data" would be an appropriate Journal, but I'm trying to avoid Springer/Elsevier like the plague. Anybody knows a suitable nonprofit alternative Journal?
