The last visit on our Anglesey trip was Beaumaris castle, a world heritage site. Started in 1295 it was never completed.

Yesterday we walked to Llanddwyn island, where we accidentally ended up swimming with seals! Along the way we saw lots of birds, including a buzzard, a lizard and a red squirrel.

Mags and I are taking a break on Anglesey. Arrived to stormy weather and dramatic seas. Today was calmer and we made a tour of Neolithic sites. All the burial chambers would originally have been covered with stone and earth mounds.

On Tuesday Leo and I went to Honister Slate Mine for his birthday treat. Canyoning in the morning, followed by the Infinity Bridge and Via Ferrata in the afternoon. Whilst on the bridge a pair of RAF jets screamed up the valley below us. It was really fun day out in the Lakes.

Muncaster Castle is a lovely quirky building full of oddities. Oldest tower dates to C14th.

Sadly a dear friend of mine, who I've known since school, recently passed. Today was her cremation. We shared a love of Romero's 'Dead' trilogy, and for her 50th I painted her as a zombie. RIP Tina.

One of the fun events at IIFAW was a portrait painting session, but with your subject interpreted as an animal!

I am now back in the UK, and about recovered from the jet lag, after an amazing week spent in Milwaukee attending the Illustration Intensive. There is still a lot to process, but it was inspirational and validating.

Passed through US immigration in Dublin, now just need to fly there! Looking forward to a week of art at the Intensive Fantasy Workshop.

Some years ago I published my father's autobiography as a slim paperback, with a cover painted by @ralphhorsley.bsky.social , in a print run of a few hundred for him to give to friends and family. Two copies are now on abebooks, priced at £40 and £60 respectively, and I have no idea why.

This morning I went on the Wetherby Wherlers 100km bike ride. It was a tad windy, and I had a puncture, but a great way to spend my morning.

My Mountain card for MtG's Tarkir: Dragonstorm set has been released. I like to think of this as part of my 'Wildborn' series. After all it is a Dragon flying through a landscape. Thanks to the AD, Forrest Schehl, for the cool commission. Oils, 19" x 14.
