Welsh railways are dilapidated from decades of underfunding. The Labour UK Government has failed to right this historic wrong by continuing to deny us the billions we’re owed. By bringing control of Welsh rail into Welsh hands we can end this injustice.

Northern Powerhouse Rail is the latest ‘England and Wales’ project that doesn’t have a single inch of track in Wales. Wales is losing billions in rail funding and Labour is failing to plug the gap. Wales needs full control over our rail network to end this injustice.

Starmer’s extremely poor judgement has plunged his own Government into chaos. This is the same PM who promised change and to restore public trust in politics. But if members of his own party doubt his leadership, then the public has little reason to place their trust in him.

As we remember Aberfan, we are reminded that Wales’ coalmining communities still live in fear of another disaster. While Reform are calling for the reopening of Wales’ coalmines, they couldn’t even be bothered to show up for this debate on the safety of our coalmining communities.

Ahead of my debate on coal tip safety today – a day after the 59th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster – we remember the 144 lives lost. No family should go to bed fearing the hillside above them. Westminster must fully fund coal tip safety.

Last night, I highlighted why targeting the most vulnerable to make financial savings is never the right option. The UK Government’s Welfare Bill crumbled before our eyes, exposing Labour’s complete lack of direction. Plaid Cymru will always stand up to cruel attacks on disabled people.

People don’t choose when to get sick or disabled, so arbitrary cut-off dates make no sense. Wales will be disproportionately hit by the UK Government’s welfare cuts. Plaid Cymru will vote against the Bill tomorrow and we urge every Welsh Labour MP to do the same.
