Let's go, new week, new Raichu Animations, and we're almost done with all the damage stuff! The last few to go are the "heavy knockback" or "sent flying" anims. Nothing too special here but sometimes the animator's job is done right when it doesn't stick out too much. Partial reference in the reply!

Whew, made it to Friday, another week of Raichu animations down! Let's finish off strong with the final air damage animation; once again, got to reference a pose from an episode for this one! Wanted to make sure this made it in somewhere, and this seems like a pretty good spot for it.

Thursday is here, and with it another Raichu animation! We're plugging our way through these damage anims, Air 2 this time; more impactful than the last, had some difficulty choosing a good pose for this one but I like the how the reference I found worked out!

Let's kick Wednesday off right with another Raichu anim! Wish these were more exciting to show, but the small stuff is important too! Air Damage 1 today, and being only 12 frames means you've gotta make them all count. Not too much, not too little, aiming to be just right feel-wise.

Hope everyone's having a good Tuesday morning! An early Raichu animation this time, plugging through those low-hit anims again. This one was also real tough to show off; you can kinda see it in this clip I got in game with trial and error, but I'll respond with the viewer anim here again too.

Happy Monday, we're back in the Raichu animation trenches again this week. Some of these next animations are gonna be harder to show off though; my next couple are "Damage Low" anims, and Raichu is so short it's very tricky to showcase in-game. Nonetheless, here it is in the anim viewer at least!

I must confess, I've actually been ahead on Raichu animations for the past week or so. As such, I used today to do polish passes on every item animation to make sure they're in the best state I can make them. I'm going to be taking a break next week but expect us to be back to animating on the 6th!

Friday is here and with it, the END OF THE RAICHU ITEM ANIMATIONS! This is a huge milestone for finishing Raichu, as there were a total of 39 animations in all. Our capper is the air scope animations, perhaps not the most exciting but very necessary nonetheless!

Thursday is here, and we're almost at the finish line! You've seen the rapid fire, but what about the BIG SHOT? Feels like I struggle with a lot of the more exaggerated Raichu animations sometimes, but ultimately I think I'm happy with where this came out. At the very least, it conveys the kickback!

Wednesday is here, along with a TRIPLE Raichu animation! This time, we've got the Super Scope start, rapid fire, and ending. I had a ton of fun with this one; Raichu has been to war after all, so of course he'd know how to handle a rifle! Using the tail as the stand was maybe my favorite part.

Tuesday, Raichu animation, let's do it! This time up to bat is the Screw Attack animation suite; there's actually 3 animations packed into this one if you can believe it, but this time we're knocking them all out at once!

Fresh week, fresh animations, let's go! This week's gonna be a special one, because it's the week we finish ALL of Raichu's item animations! Let's warm up with something small, the aerial version of the gun animation from last week!

Good Thursday morning everyone! As promised, got that couple of new Raichu animations for you; idle and moving Hammer! After so long trying to do good or elaborate animations, it was pretty funny having to faithfully recreate some Melee jank here. Feels authentic at least!

OK so, another odd situation today, this next Raichu animation is a 2 parter so I'll be posting both of them tomorrow instead of one today and one tomorrow. Look forward to them on Thursday!

Tuesday morning, woke up and did the Raichu animation first thing! Feel like I might've gotten too ambitious with the really small frame-count here, this is gonna be a definite candidate for touchups if not a full redo at some point. Still, it's alright for now and I'm glad I tried something new!

OK, let's kick Week 3 of the new Raichu animations off with the back half of the heavy toss animations! First up, High Toss; I can't lie, I had a lot of problems today, including pulling my wrist halfway through somehow. A little rough, but I'm still happy overall I think!

Friday morning, and with it the final Raichu animation of the week! Back Heavy Toss for the week finale, and it felt a little anticlimactic since I heavily used yesterday's forward throw as a base. Still, this is the way Melee does these animations, so sometimes authenticity comes first!

WHEW! Let's ring in Thursday with another Raichu animation, Heavy Forward Toss this time. Another really tough one, I got frustrated when I couldn't get the poses I wanted, but it goes to show that as long as you keep pushing through that block you'll come out the other end alright!

Alright so, since I worked on two animations yesterday and presented them both at once, I'm going to be taking the day off Raichu animations. Had quite a busy day and these are some tough animations, so I think it's for the best to get a little mid-week break. We resume tomorrow!

Oof, a tough one today! This is the "Heavy Walk" animation, but Melee splits it into two parts, one for each step. Since my model isn't using IK, I wasn't able to mirror, so I had to just make both by hand. Could definitely use polish, but first make it and then make it good later!

Special Monday Morning Raichu animation to kick off the week! We're starting on the heavy item animations, and the first real challenge is just picking them up! Luckily I think it came out pretty good, but aligning the box correctly required HOURS of trial and error. Hope the result was worth it!

We've reached the end of the week, and the end of the Raichu light item toss animations! (This time for real!) Down Air Toss is our finale, and I wish the restrictions weren't so heavy on this one; needing the throw to come out in 8 frames hurts the windup for sure. Still, overall happy with it!

It might be Silksong day, but Raichu animations always come first! My back pain's starting to take its toll but we've got the High Item Toss today! Little tricky to show off because of the falling, but it seems to convey the motion well at least. 4 down, 1 to go!

Good mid-week to you all, it's time for the Wednesday Raichu animation! Item back-throw today, and I'm EXCITED! It's been a long time since I've gotten to work a deep-cut Raichu reference in; see if you can guess it, but if not I'll be posting a reply with the direct reference!

Happy Tuesday, Raichu animation time! I was mistaken in my post yesterday, I forgot all about the air item toss anims! Let's get started with the forward one; I like the freedom that being in the air gives me, but I always want to do something different with each animation, so that might even out.

Alright, I lied I guess, got my Raichu animation for the day finished just in time. Let's hit the ground running with our final light item toss, the dashing toss! I'm surprised this one didn't give me way more trouble than it did, came out happy with it after just a few iterations! Heavy items next!

OK, slight change of plans this week; I injured my back kinda bad this last Saturday unfortunately, still not sure how bad, but it's been a little tougher to work right now. Still, it's Labor Day, so I'll be taking the holiday and uploading my first Raichu animation this week tomorrow instead.

Day 5 of the Raichu anims, and we're finishing off the cardinal item throws with the down-throw! Spiking it into the ground felt very fitting for Raichu, so this one was fun! And with that, week 1 of the new schedule comes to a close! Really happy I was able to stick to it, see you next Monday!

Day 4 of Raichu anims and feeling better! I dunno if it was an easier animation or I was just feeling it today, because this upward item toss was a clean process from start to finish. I really like the bouncy feeling of this one! Here's hoping Day 5 can be just as smooth!

Day 3, let's do Raichu's backwards item toss! A little tough, but not as bad as yesterday; gotta say I'm pretty satisfied with how these both came out ultimately! Kinda hard to showcase this one, you have to be real tight with inputs to get the back toss lol.

Day 2, Raichu animation 2 of the new schedule! Forward item toss this time, and this one was REALLY unexpectedly tough. Crazy to think that such a small animation could give me such big trouble but, I've learned to never underestimate things I thought were simple.

OK, it's Monday, One Raichu animation every weekday, let's get this started! I did a revision of the last Swing animation, and we've also got the new dash-swing animation ontop of that! I had initially wanted to do a bit more with this, but Melee has some strict limits on what this dash can be.

OK, some news this week; as of right now, I have 51 more Raichu animations to go until he's finished. My intent was to finish this project this year, so my schedule is going to speed up considerably. I'm busy this week, but starting next Monday, expect an animation every weekday until we're done!

Another midweek animation! Got Raichu's medium sword swing today, I can't convey to you what a headache I had doing this one; getting this potato to pose like this is no laughing matter. Happy with it now though! You can see all 3 sword swings here now, just the dash attack to go!

One last bonus Raichu animation for the week! Decided to try tackling an item animation this time, so here's the "Light Swing" animation! Looks deceptively simple, but the devil is always in the details with these! Took a lot of revisions before I got something I was happy with.

VERY special Raichu Beyond Melee post today! Inspiration struck to redo the Back Throw animation, and I think it's maybe the best animation I've done so far. Really cool to see how far I've come since I started!

My week break is over, I've recollected myself, and we're back on the Raichu animating wagon for Beyond Melee! We've got the "Ottotto" series of animations this week, I'm pretty happy overall with these 2! Still owe you another one later this week, so stay tuned.
