After a year break I continued on my leviathan tyranids. This is a very simple contrast/speedpaint scheme with one coat of layering. Nonetheless, getting these leaders basecoated really took some time. Very complex models.

This kit was quite a bit challenging. Usually I don’t do much subassemblies with my orks, but this kit required to be partly painted before final assembly. Therefore I left this kit partly finished for over three years, before i finally tackled it last orctober. #warhammer

Finished a small woodworking project. Before our two boxes for recycling bottles sat upon next other, which made it a bit tricky to teach the lower ones. Now they glide on simple rails, which make it way more convenient. #woodworking

Spent quite some time in the basement this weekend, progressing in woodwork. Building a solid frame only with dowels instead of screws and nails takes some time, but feels very rewarding. This shall become a small sideboard for our Glas-Recycling bins.

Except varnish and pigments, my terminator chaplain is finished. This will be my last painted mini for this year. In total I was able to extend my griffons with thirteen terminators. On 2nd of July I’ll field an all terminator army in a game, very excited for that 🙂 #howlinggriffons

Quick built gifts for wife and kid. The #minecraft nightlight will get a smart bulb later for more colors. My wife got herself a fallout bobble head collection, so I decided to do a proper stand for them. Had only two days for sanding and painting, so the rough weathering needs to cover it up.

After a year, we had another evening playing #firefly #boardgame with seven players. It was an epic adventure and as a bonus, we painted all the ships together before the game started. I’m really surprised how much more immersion this little tweak spent.

Dusted out the box with this started Terrain sideproject I’m absolutely surprised how much better these ruins now look with bases. Second half of bases still needs sanding. Liked it so much that I challenged my son for a quick game of Firefight, which I lost with devastating 0:3 :D #warhammer

Another 10 plague marines out of the way. I've got my workflow and technique at the right spot for army painting now (I think 🤔). In a month, that's 15 plague marines, 12 poxwalkers, and a lord of contagion (though, in all honesty, I could go back and pick some details on him. #paintingwarhammer

With the new additions to my #seraphim squad, I decided to ditch the old printed flight Stand and built some custom ones for the previously painted minis. Also spent a bit time on improving the red armor, to make them more cohesive with the newly painted ones. What do you think? #warhammer

More reinforcements for my Sororitas army. These were kitbashed from the monopose #seraphim which are a bit cheaper to get then the usual. Luckily the regular seraphim box delivers a lots of leftovers for conversions like these. Also tried some new flightstands. #warhammer

I tried a kind of slapchop method with some contrast and verdigries effect color to do these statues in NMM. Worked surprisingly well for a first attempt.

Nearly have my next two seraphim ready, but don’t have any more of the printed flight stands. Built something new, also to replace the old one too.

I’ve finished my Dominions now. It’s a mixed loadout since I only run three-model squads in OPR. The storm bolter goes into my standard squad so those blessed bolts can shred even more heretics :) #warmongers

Took me just three years to paint six more #repentias for my sisters of battle. I was always a bit intimidated by the fine details. But now I’m really happy to have them painted and now finally can field a full squad of ten. #warmonger
