I get that I can be annoying about alt text but I need you to imagine for just a minute what it's like to rely it. Imagine logging onto socials and every post is "Omg this is so funny! Image." Or, "This is really important information. Image." You don't know what the image is - it's just "image".

That's what it's like for folks who use screen readers when you don't include alt text. When you write inaccurate alt text, they hear shit like "a dickhead things he's funny" and have no further context. Alt can have flavour but it MUST be accurate. Please, just add alt text.
