With Nadja's 13th episode, series director Tatsuya Igarashi returns to helm another episode. He brings an appropriate amount of angst to a long-awaited yet uncertain reunion of lovers. He paints his canvas with warm and grounded lighting, the occasional long shadow, and lots of framing.

God i love this moment...! Hosoda's approach is so careful. The way the strings of the harp cut in... the sense of parallax from the background and foreground moving... The way the music builds... the way he frames them. It's like this moment is suspended in time, and it belongs to only them.

Nadja's 5th episode marks Mamoru Hosoda's first time of 3 at the wheel on the show. He uses the scale of the estate and careful framing to portray this as a world she does not belong in. Constantly separating her or trapping her in her own box. It is so precise... and yet so effortless.
