Spine, is out now. It's been called "the funniest book of the year", but it's also an angry, visceral, and ultimately thankful meditation on mortality. With funny jokes. It's a companion-piece to my previous book, Teeth. So if you enjoyed that, you'll ADORE this one.

Spine has thrilled the Gnome Appreciation society! Lovely review in which he notes I call Batman a dick, and have the reviewer chuckling so hard over soup-based antics he upsets his neighbour. Funniest book of the year! What? Just THIS year? I think we can go further than that.

Dreamed I was hired to teach Prince Harry to write songs for his album. Gary Kemp, also hired, instigated a radical splinter group, wearing a tin foil crown and refusing to cooperate. "You took my money," insisted the prince. "It's not your money," said Kemp, a modern Wat Tyler.

Today I am mostly going to attempt to build a website. I wrote my first novel using the caps lock for each capital letter because I didn't know about the shift key. That's the level of savvy I'm dealing with. Still, I'm going to have a go at this. And the air will be blue with my luddite fury.

Brian Forster, who played Chris Partridge, the drummer in The Partridge Family is the great, great, great, grandson of Charles Dickens. He's also the step grandson of Alan Napier, who played Alfred the Butler in the 60's Batman. I'm practically malarial. This might all be a hallucination.

Just made the best scrambled eggs I've ever made. Not sure why they were the best - I didn't alter my approach in anyway, they just turned out perfectly. Like sometimes you get a Donnie and sometimes you get a Little Jimmy. Anyway, these are the scrambled eggs Paul McCartney dreamed a song about.

Back to having an "Invalid Handle" again. Is the same as being "unpersoned"? I left Twitter to get away from the volcanic, dystopian misery.

I'm very pleased to say my story, No Light in the Trees, will feature in the tenth edition of Weird Horror, which will be out next April. Here I am with all these cool guys... As for Weird Horror? The story meets the brief...

Here I am in full book signing action, just writing a little note of thanks to all of you doughty souls who braved the snow yesterday, and saw me launch FINE, finally. And I really hope you all enjoy the book. Because that's what it's for.
