Ok, two lipsticks, one lip pencil, four nail polishes, one perfume later: all perfect choices. Then one green eye shadow and I’m like oops. But, I’ll own it since I am creating who I am and there is nothing wrong in experimenting.

I was a kid in the 80s. I was poorly verbal, socially confused, avoided eye contact, prone to intense interests, sensitive to sounds, light & smells, exhausted by school so much I would frequently run away to hide somewhere to be alone and stim. I was there, but they called it a "bad attitude".

Today was amazing. My poetry book positively impacted two friends. All I ever wanted from writing was to help someone like books I’ve read have helped me. To say my heart burst would be an understatement. Then an amazing evening w/my love. The joy in my eyes you can see hasn’t been there for ages.

I know from experience that leaving Substack has a cost. No other platform is as *easy* to get up and running, any time you change platforms, you're going to get significant churn. But, my friends who are on Substack--I don't think it will get easier to leave, might as well do it now.

I miss the Tall Man. The role, the backstory, and, of course, the actor. Phantasm Ravager hits on so many levels for me: friends, family, dementia… Imiss you, Angus. You made a difference.

Simplest of things but made my day. Having doctor visit where they used my name. Hearing it, seeing it in my file (although other name still there for now). Such a tiny thing that costs nothing but brought personhood and visibility to me. 🩷🏳️⚧️

For all their screaming & terror/genocide campaign against trans people, it didn’t keep me in the closet or keep me quiet. It actually encouraged me to come out and be more vocal. To share myself, not hide myself. Epic mistake. We will not be silenced. We have always been here & will always be here!
