I introduced my students to Witch Hat Atelier when we were discussing manga & comics. One of my students got hooked to the series and today, she drew Qifrey and gave it to me.

The challenge for the Lucy’s panic attack pages was how to portray it visually. I ultimately used my own few experiences of panic attacks and it felt like being consumed by an overwhelming force of darkness, so that’s how I portrayed it Chapter 3

This spread was supposed to be heavily detailed with the backgrounds, but i decided to omit those cuz I like the sense of loneliness and isolation that the white background emits the scene, reflecting the two characters’ situation. I hope my art was able to convey that feeling…
