Thank you to the Not the Voiders who were willing to try out Co Resting (they did mute my awful taste in ambient music 🤣) on a zoom social meeting call. We radically rested for 20 minutes, which is a big deal for our first time trying it together.

Although we do not allow 'professionals' to observe at Not the Void UK meetings, we do welcome people who need support for themselves precisely because you can work in a role like this and also feel like you want to die. The role can be the thing that makes you want to die.

Not The Void UK is a community of people across the UK and Europe. We meet for fortnightly Sunday meetings to have frank, compassionate, non clinical and confidential conversations about our relationship to suicide. /1

Something I really value about Not the Void UK is how practical the discussions can be; it's not easy to navigate feeling suicidal whilst going to work everyday or dealing with the fallout of an attempt on relationships but part of discussion is problem solving together.

A huge thank you to Angela and Gerry for putting their hearts into co producing two workshops for @notthevoiduk.bsky.social members. Gerry and Angela held our values, listened to exps of iatrogenic harm and gave us tools and experiences we can use.

Setting up for this afternoons second 'Tending to your wise, compassionate self' workshop at 2pm. Facilitators Gerry and Angela will share a technique we've can use support each other as we speak about our pain, aided by drawing and writing.
