This one is for all the nerds, Aikon Arcade is opened in the Carrollwood neighborhood of Tampa at 14313 N. Dale Mabry Ave. Conveniently located near Kobe Japanese Steakhouse, Aiko is a Japanese arcade with claw machines and gashapon toys.

2026 is almost here and I am almost finished reading ever book listed in the back of Danse Macabre by Stephen King. I am currently reading Titus Alone the third and final book in the Gormenghast trilogy a engaging dark fantasy.

On the weekends I love taking my battered and worn out copy of Danse Macabre to second hand bookstores and thrift shops. Then making notes of what I have and what I need.

The lending library is so nice. Someone left a present with clues. Can you guess what book this is?

My one purchase from Sentai Filmworks Black Friday sale just arrived. I got Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun about a girl who wants to confess to her crush.However, he is a successful manga artist and he asks her to become his assistant. Wacky hijinks follow. This goes to my Otaku collection.

This hits hard I remember buying Aiko's album Under the Cherry Blossom Tree in 2000. She just turned 50!

This just arrived in time for the holidays. I have not seen this in years.

The weather is finally cool enough for me to cook Japanese curry. I used shaved Ribeye and Vermont Curry with apples and honey. What really nails the taste is the Fukujinzuke topping. It has taken me 25 years to get it like the restaurants in Osaka, back when I was a exchange student.

I just got this in the mail. Hideaki Anno's Directorial debut. I managed to snag a copy before it went out-of-print.

I am steadily watching all of Gundam Universal Century. Then I will explore other timeliness.

I got Kakashi at Burger King USA.

We are finally back at Sa Ri One. So many delicious banchan. I like the kimchi and spicy zucchini. I got Bulgogi that was melt in your mouth good with a nice sweet sauce. In the Summer I love cold Mugicha (Barley) tea to beat the heat. I can't wait to go back.

It has been a long time, but I was ready to make Japanese curry again. So many anime for Summer 2025 right now that I wanted a spicy, hearty meal to dine on while I watch.

One of my favorite Summer reads is Darkness in Summer about young Japanese couples who travel overseas, take in the sights of the city, explore the beauty of rural landscapes, dine on local cuisines, and who have no desire to return home.

The Summer anime line up looks promising. My top pick is Kaiju No. 8 and I am curious about My Dress Up Darling Season 2. I am mildly curious about The Summer Hikaru Died and City the Animation.

Our of are traditions is on our way to the condo on the Gulf beaches, we always stop at Wilson's Book World to get something to read. Here is what I got.

There was a knock on the door and he asked someone to open it. There was a team of Pizza Hut employees with 500 pepperoni pizzas. He said let's have lunch and we passed pizza boxes and got two slices each.

Sadly I just found out that Science Fiction writer Peter David passed away. I attended his panel on Does Humor Belong in Science Fiction way back in the 90's at Necronomicon in Tampa. During the panel David said how funny the unexpected can be. (See next post)

Next book for me is from email correspondences I had with Anime Historian and Furry founder, Fred Patten. We both like Miltary Science Fiction and Fred recommended Lois McMaster Bujold and David Weber. I am excited for this one.

Spotted at my local Little Free Library. A childhood favorite of mine. I prefer the children's edition to Verne's original long winded novel. The biggest influences on me was the movie on Wonderful World of Disney, Sundays at 7pm, then the Magic Kingdom ride, and the record.

Anime I want to watch for Spring 2025 is Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, and Moonrise. I will have to wait till July for Kaiju No 8 Season Two.

Happy 50th Anniversary Space BattleshipYamato/Star Blazers. I watched it back in the early 80's on Channel 28 in Tampa.

I am adding this classic to my Saturday Morning Playlist. The toys were incredible. Current Playlist is Thundercats, Voltron, (new) G. I. Joe, Star Wars Clone Wars, and Kamen Rider.

I just finished watching all 24 episodes of Star Fleet and all 25 episodes of X-Bomber. Combining the influence of Star Wars and Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds, Director Go Nagai created a exciting and interesting series that was a hit in Japan and later in the UK. Highly recommended.

It took all my willpower to resist buying this.

I just started my daunting task of arranging my Japanese language manga like a Japanese bookstore. I decided on genre, then publisher, author, and finally title.

A big special thanks to my wonderful sister who got me this for Christmas. This is the definitive biography of the most fascinating and interesting individual I have ever read about. At 633 pages, you learn so much about who Disney was. Animation fans will love it.
