It’s been a day of bumping into old colleagues - my deputy head from 20 years ago and a T&L coordinator from 10 years ago. Don’t seem to have aged - though retirement is suiting them. I think if you retire in your 50s as a teacher - you get some kind of rejuvenating powers. It’s making me think……..

Popped into the city centre today for a bit of Music in the City. Really well attended gigs and great to showcase the city and it’s smaller venues

First time I’ve done an open morning - seemed to work well. Kept it simple, spoke to lots of parents and future pupils.

On way home from Bath after watching the rugby with the little man. After the game my heart sang when another little boy asked him if he wanted to play rugby with him, and he said yes. He was chuffed to bits.

First week done at new school. Different systems, new pupils, new classroom. Been enjoyable but the weekend couldn’t have come sooner. When’s half term?

First full day back teaching. Also first day back for the little man - Year 1 has begun. He was absolutely buzzing when he got home (obligatory doorstep photo provided R-1)

Arrrgh! Start of the year is usually busy, but starting a new school, with new systems and routines - blimey - I don’t think I’ve ever felt so tired after two days.
