We polled Indivisible members over the weekend on whether Dems should take a deal or keep fighting for the ACA subsidies. Results: 98.67% said keep fighting. Dems who vote to surrender now are fracturing their own party in a way that will reverberate loudly in the primaries.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard. We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions. We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Schumer can be removed from his Dem leadership role this week - 23 Dems (and/or independents) just have to vote to depose him And they should, given this is his fault.

The original Dem demands were: 1) Permanent ACA subsidies 2) Medicaid funding restored 3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission) They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today. The Senate Democrats!

This is the message of a failed, feckless, and leaderless party. We need a party with backbone, and the only path to it is through a cleansing primary season. If your Dem is up for reelection, and you aren't damn sure they're fighting the fascists with everything they've got, primary the bastard.

My parents raised me not to tolerate racism, sexism, heterosexism, antisemitism, jingoism, classism, ageism, ableism... (and the list goes on). Call it morals, ethics, values, or just plain basic decency. Maybe call it a belief in fundamental human rights and an abiding commitment to love over hate.
