Here we go again…

What this article avoids is the difficult question of whether these homes can, or should, be saved. It may sound callous but we’re going to face thousands of such decisions. With limited resources for #ClimateResilience we can’t protect everything everywhere forever. There are no easy answers left.

We have any number of reports and studies demonstrating the significant impacts to our communities from climate-driven extreme weather. People are dying from random rainstorms.

August and summer 2025 weather conditions vacillated between heat with plenty of humidity to cool and quite pleasant. In the mix were also some local extreme storms with damaging impacts, while there were also some extended dry intervals. (1/7)

Four years ago, #NJ awoke to news of destruction and loss resulting from the remnants of tropical storm Ida. Awareness and preparation are important aspects of the #NJ #ClimateResilience strategy, but investment in long-term adaptation is critical to avoid similar disasters in the future.

IF the argument is that the purpose of beach replenishment is for #ClimateResilience, then about 50 towns get $25M-$50M every year in resilience funding. Where's the funding for the other 500 towns? It is past time for #NJ to identify a stable state funding source to invest in #ClimateResilience.
