Colorado football’s problem has always been that they’ve been diametrically opposed to what the institutional culture of football is in the Midwest/mountain states. CU’s vibe is not Kansas State as a university. But the regional football culture is *much* closer to K-State than, say, UCLA.

Deion is tough because I think there’s a fair argument he’s been an unequivocal success for the university brand as a whole and there’s a ton of metrics to support that. But is that enough to justify this potentially every year he wants to keep doing it? Schwartz and Saliman probably do but idk
