Tax season is here, and our Financial Stability Network will be providing free tax preparation clinics beginning February 7. If you made $69,000 or less, you are eligible to have your taxes prepared by IRS-certified volunteers for free.

This past year, lives were uplifted and futures were strengthened because of the powerful collaboration between our dedicated staff, generous donors, and compassionate volunteers.

Last night, our very own St. Maria’s Meals hosted its annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Co-hosted by PepcoConnect, the traditional Thanksgiving meal, prepared by our KitchenWorks program, fed 300 people at a sit-down dinner at Pepco Edison Place Gallery in downtown D.C.

Yesterday evening, 25 volunteers from The Catholic University of America Busch School of Business served a warm Thanksgiving dinner to 165 residents at Adam’s Place Emergency Shelter.

We are so thankful and overjoyed to receive $10,000 in holiday gift cards from the Safeway Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors program.

During National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, we’re spotlighting the vital work of 801 East Shelter. Located in the District’s Ward 8, the shelter is open to males aged 18 years and older and offers a hot dinner, case management services, showers, and a warm bed.

Service takes many forms. For the veterans, we thank you for your service, and we are here to provide meals, shelter, healthcare, and more. Our Dental Clinic at the Spanish Catholic Center provides dental services to low-income families and individuals, including veterans.

Today, we joined the Department of Human Services and the DowntownDC BID to kick off Hypothermia Season and encourage residents to take the Hypothermia Awareness Pledge. It was an opportunity to reach out to our local community members and share information about our shelter and housing services.
