The fact that 40% of registered voters still support Donald Trump is bad. These supporters aren’t just registered — they’re more likely to vote. That 40% grows to 51% of actual voters. It’s enough to tank your dreams for at least a decade or more because of the harm they’ll do.

Trump’s overall approval rating stands at 37%. His disapproval is 61%. Among registered voters, Trump’s approval is 40%.
That puts Trump’s approval on par with when he left office in 2021, after he lost his reelection bid and his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol.

A senior administration official vented privately that U.S. policy on any given issue amounted to “whatever Donald Trump said last on that subject. And then it will change in twenty-four hours, or in two hours, or in one hour, or in one minute,” the official said.
