A crazy friend of mine showed me his list of 150 favorite movies made before 1990 and I was inspired to make one of my own. It is in no particular order and in other ways a work in progress. Favorite Hollywood movie: To Have and Have not. Favorite art movie: La Dolce Vita. These are the 1st fifty.

The tragedy (or rather, the difficulty, given our housing affordability crisis) is not that this beautiful though diminished old house will be demolished; but that it will be replaced by just another single family home, larger and with less modesty. Preferable would be to have multiple units.

A sequel to “A Romance in My Mind” has occurred. Part I was a “romance in my mind” in the sense that a character was only dreaming of being in a relationship. In Part II it is the author who is dreaming of that relationship actually coming to fulfillment — unabashed invention and wishful thinking.

Remembering how dad could actually scare me by telling me there was "a man" in the house, so that I would actually go around the whole house looking for "the man," and keep a blunt object near my bed for self defense... But "the man" was always himself; he would encounter himself as another person.

Under the heading of Mobility Issues, car coming to a full stop as they see Grandpa enter the crosswalk. By the way the car comes to a halt, you can almost see the driver’s mind turn from “I’ll just roll through this Stop” to “this is going to take a while.”

I describe a house fly I've sequestered in a bathroom as being “the size of a fist” but it is really only my imagination that has made it to seem so gargantuan, only my imagination that makes me duck and run for cover whenever I encounter this “flying fist.”
