The president speech from Malcolm in the Middle is haunting in light of recent events. Lois sabotages Malcolm's chance at getting rich cause if he gets rich and buys his way into becoming president "You wouldn't be a good president. You wouldn't have suffered enough" ...damn

I didn’t post this at the time, but I thought I’d bring it out anyway. I made a 3rd alternative version of my fanart for the episode “The Lost Finale of Johnny and Janey” from
@stubagful.bsky.social
’s “Abnormal Stories“ series, this time being a haunted “glitched” version of Johnny & Janey.

Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair - something's off. Everyone's ended up exactly where I thought they would be and Malcolm's kid talking to the camera is a really nice idea buuut...I'm just not laughing that much.

Finished Life on Mars. Taking in the fact that in about a decade, the modern equivalent would be a policeman getting in a car accident and waking up in 2006.

Started rewatching Life on Mars. It plays like every single TV show ever made all playing at once. It's a 70s cop drama, twin peaks dream sequence, a documentary about the seventies and a rerun of top of the pops all in one.

Apparently if you spend an entire year only watching films where all the cast and crew have passed away, you unlock a secret movie that plays on the inside of your eyelids that shows you the means of your own demise.

Randomly started watching the X files from the beginning cause it appeared recommended on my Disney plus account and all my social media feeds have now started showing me UFO videos. COINCIDENCE!?? ...No. Because Disney have clearly sold my data. There's no mystery in the world anymore

Finally got round to watching Douglas is Cancelled. Some of it feels a bit dated already but the point holds up. I really like that the first half is basically a Trojan horse for the second half. It's probably the most emotionally mature piece I've seen from Steven Moffat.

I feel Michael in Small Prophets is more like the Doctor than any of the recent ones. Pottering around in his shed, barely acknowledges it when people are pointing out he's being weird. I feel him being an oddball is what Doctor Who's missing. Capaldi was the last one who was like that.

I had a dream where mirrors had this setting where you could save what was reflected in them. Think it would make a cool horror film where someone sees the reflection of the previous house's owner getting attacked by a killer.

Next season of The Traitors: "Well speaking as someone who was actually convicted of murder, I am telling you I'm not a traitor because if I did murder Derrick, I would've ACTUALLY murdered him, wouldn't l?" "Yes, that's true. I'm voting Louise because she ate crisps in a suspicious way yesterday"

Just got out of seeing the Melania movie. It's just her sitting against a white background reading the unredacted Epstein files for 4 hours. Pretty clever way to fulfill the legal obligation to release them by putting them in a place no one's going to see them.

Just walked through St pancras station past an advert for the Melania movie. Then just outside there was a crazy man with a microphone shouting about how he is Jesus Christ returned. I almost couldn't tell which was which.

There's an advert on itv about a little girl who can't tell the difference between real life and the AI assistant in her parents' car. It's the most depressing advert ever that thinks it's adorable.

Stranger things season 5 - lesson learned so far is if you've previously made it look like you've killed off a main character then undone it, they're basically invincible from that point cause I don't buy that they're ever in any real danger

Stranger things season 5 is interesting but the dialogue is really bugging me. Instead of having our characters describe what just happened for the sake of people looking at their phone, I'd like phones to give electric shocks when they sense your attention wandering from something you're doing

Finally started stranger things season 5 and have instantly latched onto Holly's story. I think I'm less interested in the regulars because they're used to odd things happening and Holly isn't so it's like I'm seeing it through fresh eyes again.

In conversation with Emily we've just coined the term "flu movies" - films you watch when you have the flu. Unchallenging. Feel good films you could watch with a piece of your brain missing. Current list: Yes Man Freaky Friday 13 going on 30 Miss congeniality The Mr Bean movie Additions welcome

Almost finished Metroid Prime 4. While the issues are there and drag it down, I did get the occasional twinge of the feeling I got when I was a kid playing a demo of Prime 1 in toys r us in about 2002, so I consider it worth it.

Tried the war between the land and the sea - s'alright. The translation scene reminded me of Arrival which is always a good thing, and Barclay's adorable. Dialogue's a bit overdone though and a bit too eager to tell me what it all means.

Having speaking NPCs but keeping Samus a silent protagonist makes Metroid Prime 4 into a weird remake of Sooty and Sweep. "What's that Samus? ....you need to go to some ancient temples and find some stupid key things?"
