My favourite part of creating electronic music is the sculpting. First step is to build up a big amorphous mass of sounds, then slowly chip away at it until the form is revealed. Sometimes, you might only be left with fragments of the original material. But there's always something hiding in there.

Sat down to write a new album of introspective tracks. But as soon as I tuned into the memories I was recapturing, every one of them has told me that they want to grow up to be techno bangers. There's a lesson here for all parents. Go with the flow.

Had the pleasure of remastering this bunch of unreleased, unfinished, and rare tracks from the much missed Untitled Musical Project recently. Finally available to stream after 15 years or so... Still sounds fresh. open.spotify.com/album/4mjXxw...

I love that thing where you spend a week adding more and more tracks to a song. Building intricate counter melodies and percussion into a massive payoff. Then you take them all off again because you just needed reassuring that simple is best.
