I looked up a summary of the Dark Tower movie I bailed on and I think I made the right call. I would have been furious. I need to stress, I *don't* get mad at movies. I find things to enjoy about basically any film. I even briefly blogged about loving horrible movies This one hurt to watch.

On the one hand I can understand why stories about immortal people often focus on how miserable they are but like...all I can think about is how much time I could devote to actually becoming good at different skills. I just think the bored/nihilistic immortal trope is full of unimaginative people.

If I were an actual musician instead of just a vague hobby guitarist I would write a whole concept album or series of concept albums just based on ideas from The Dark Tower.

Combat vehicles for #Battletech! (I remembered the hashtag 😅). Condor Hover Tanks, Hetzer Wheeled Assault Guns, Von Luckner Heavy Tanks, and a pair of Vedettes to round us off. I went with a sort of off-brand flecktarn camo pattern with the intent of using these with many different mech forces.

Been having a lot of fun working on the fx for this! Every laser needs to be hand done, which is a lot of work, but I think it's worth it for the result!

Decided I wasn't super satisfied with the very monochrome grey and silver on most of the mech and decided to add in some red and white hazard markings on the mini to try to bring a little bit more vibrancy to the overall look. Hopefully it does not look silly! #battletech

Test mini for my own take on Smoke Jaguar Beta Galaxy. The descriptions for this galaxy state "Beta paints its ‘Mechs in a multilayered grey camouflage consisting of horizontal streaks, meant to represent a mist." But a lot of example minis are painted differently so I am trying my own hand at mist.

I know I keep circling back to this, but I don't think k a lot of well-meaning people realise how much it rankles when the response to Harry Potter funding trans genocide is a focus on "what to read instead to be a Good Person" rather than, I dunno, more directly helping combat the trans genocide.
