The Afterparty is such a good show! 2 seasons, mostly an anthology with a few recurring characters. Fairplay whodunit murder mysteries. Very funny, excellently cast. Not getting a 3rd season apparently but it doesn't really need it. Highly recommend.

Maybe an unpopular take but I feel pretty strongly that modern shooter video games would be more fun if they used older tech that shot slower, took longer to reload, etc vs. Laser accurate bullet hoses. Stuff like Hunt or Red Ded or Hell Let Loose even has much more entertaining gunplay than COD.

I wish we lived in the universe where the very popular dark superhero adaptation we got was of Worm. But we do not live in the good timeline.

So, okay, if you are someone who plays #MtG, let me pitch you on how #Netrunner feels to play. You know the idea of a 'fundamental turn'? Setting up your resources to execute your game plan and cinch it? Netrunner is a game where you have to think ahead to land _multiple fundamental turns_.

With some good dice luck, we made it through the minefield and won the day. MVP was my Sniper Priest for sure.

Got a delivery from a game store I had ordered some Trench Crusade minis from today, only it was not the minis I'd ordered. I emailed their customer service and within an hour they replied back with an order number to ship me the right ones and told me to keep what they'd sent in error!

Oh no...I just found out a Warhammer store opened up in my town this past weekend *and* my flgs is coincidentally running Trench Crusade this Saturday and half of my Prussians are still in the mail!

If money were no object I would simply quit my job and open a tabletop games community space and spend my days running narrative campaigns, building bespoke terrain, painting minis to let people use in games, and generally trying to make the most welcoming ttrpg or tabletop minis game space ever.

My perpetual problem is that I love miniatures games, but the closest flgs I could play them at is 45 minutes to an hour away on the other side of one of the most congested highways in town. I need portal technology. Or to complete the Friend Commune dream I think every millennial has these days.

Final double feature verdict: Mortal Kombat 2: *staggeringly* stupid, but fun and I actually kinda liked it. Lee Cronin's The Mummy: About a mummy in the loosest possible sense. Not really scary so much as gross. Creepy possessed girl plots have been done *to deathhhhhh* long before now. Meh.

The Mummy so far is 2 different movies. One is an interesting Mummy mystery investigation happening in Egypt. The other is yet another extremely stupid movie about a creepy little possessed girl that has nothing to do wih the Mummy investigation in any real sense and has been made about 40 times.

Mortal Kombat 2 feels like a fake movie that plays in the background of a completely different movie.
