In this blog post, I wanted to share how I am improving how I work when sharing and documenting solution designs for the development team at iThink 365.

This post represents the start of my journey into building an MCP server for Microsoft 365 Copilot. I delve into some of the articles that I found useful and explain what I am looking to build.

A7: I think keeping it simple and not trying to duplicate the capabilities of other agent technologies in Microsoft 365 will help. Though there should be an upgrade path so that people can move to more complex solutions when needed. #CollabTalk

A6: I think having editable built-in agents will have a big impact on adoption. I do worry about the control and agent sprawl. #CollabTalk

A5: I think the fact that they are not as powerful and configurable as their Copilot Studio cousins is a big limitation. However, that is also their benefit as they are less complicated and do one thing well. Use in HR, Sales, Finance and IT #CollabTalk

A2: Agents should serve a particular focus like an App on a phone. Ensure you do not mix too many different data types that are for different purposes in your libraries. Ideally just the one purpose. #CollabTalk

A1: The generation of them is straight-forward and anyone can create them provided they have permission and licenses. They are a much lower bar to entry. They appear in SharePoint and easy to switch between agents through SharePoint. #CollabTalk

In the fourth and last blog post in the series on App-Powered Microsoft Planner tasks, I talk about some features and ideas that I would like to see. In particularly to make this capability more friendly in an AI Agent centric world.

I am pretty excited about this new feature in Microsoft Planner called App-Powered Tasks. They are the next step on the path for Business Scenarios. They provide the ability to provide a custom user interface to manage the task process. In this blog series I am going to show you why, what and how.

A7: Net promoter scores for the environment before and after the migration. Using metrics from helpdesk to understand if people who don’t fill in surveys are able to use the new platform. #CollabTalk

A6: Ensuring good communication to explain why, when and what is going to happen. Ensure that training provided, training resources available in different formats to support different types of learning. Ensure there's a Communication plan to build excitement & is thought through. #CollabTalk

A5: Senior management team, Marketing and Internal comms to support communication. Human Resources because they have so much content that is used by other parts of the business. Departments with Core Business Process ownership #CollabTalk

A4: Moving files from Files shares / SharePoint on-prem to Online often seem much quicker and easier to deliver with third-party tools. They can help you get yourself out of trouble too. #CollabTalk

A3: One common challenge is taking SharePoint sites that have been customised and provide functionality that cannot be migrated to Online. e.g. features don’t exist, going out of support. e.g. InfoPath forms. Planning & understanding of what is being migrate key to avoid these issues. #CollabTalk

A2: Time needs to be made available from the teams that are going to be involved in the first way of migration. It might be that we do not need everyone involved at the beginning but we need to have senior management buy-in so that the project has visibility and support from the senior team.

A1: Having a look at the content that is going to be migrated, looking at how it currently is structured and how it will be structured. Using this time to plan, where will things go? Cleaning up content that is old so that we don’t move the rubbish into the new environment. #CollabTalk
