It has been very emotionally taxing going through all of our belongings and finding mold on almost everything. Some things we can save, some things we can't. We've had to throw away some things that are irreplaceable, like family heirlooms and some of my own art. Devastating everywhere we look.

Here we go again. The mold is back with a vengeance. The floors, walls, all of our furniture, some of our clothes and shoes. Our apartment isn't safe to live in anymore and it's affecting our health and Cricket's health.

I've hit a wall with portfolio progress. My motivation to work on paintings isn't there, even though I'm still excited about the process. I think I might take a little break from it, because I just got my mandalorian armor. I can work a little on that and return to my portfolio in a couple weeks.

This year is apparently the year of experimental art as I'm building my portfolio. I've already done embroidery on my paintings, so adding beads was a logical next step. I am now excited to start incorporating some cyanotype printing into my paintings as well. I think it will be very interesting.

Me: I've always wanted a rock tumbler. My boss: I have one, I can bring it to work! Me: :O And that's why I sent an email to everyone not to be alarmed at the weird rumbling noise in the storage room. It's just the rock tumbler. I hope they don't mind that it'll be going for a month hahaha.

Last year, I wanted to apply for more art shows, but that didn't happen because my life got turned upside down. I'm making up for it this year. I've already been accepted into a show and I'm waiting to hear back from 3 others.

Yesterday was my friend Joe's birthday. He would have been 46. I'm the same age as him when he was killed. I think about him often. Every time I dance, every time I listen to blues music, every time I see someone wearing flip flops and jeans, every time I eat oreos. I miss him.

Went for a little hike yesterday. We saw lots of birds, animals, and plants.

I am now the proud owner of a pottery wheel. It was given to me for free. I'm excited to set up a little ceramic studio on my patio.

My friends just sent me a bunch of pictures of rocks and asked me to identify them. Hahahaha... sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like if I pursued geology instead of psychology and art. I'd probably be living on the side of a mountain in the middle of nowhere doing lots of math.

Little update of sorts while also vagueposting. Life has been life, ya feel? Mental health has been not great and I want to make art because I know it'll make me feel better, but I can't find the energy to make art because I'm still sick, so my mental health keeps getting worse. Vicious cycle

Tough post to make, but we had an unexpected trip to the ER followed by having to replace our mattress and bedframe due to mold. I don't expect to meet the goal because I know everyone is having a hard time, but anything to help a queer couple out is appreciated! 🧡

watched new moon yesterday Uggghhhhh these movies are BAD. I laughed so hard for a good portion of the movie. We also had to rewind multiple times because the dualogue just didn't make any sense. I am both excited and dreading watching the next one.
