First quick test. Oracle 19.28 with Microsoft NPS Radius server over UDP, no changes whatsoever to radius config in 10 years. Just worked. hmmmmm. I feel disturbance in the force. Are troubles about some specific Radius implementations, like Freeradius?

Microsoft NPS Radius server does not support RFC 6613/6614, tcp+tls, that Oracle is defaulting to from 19.28. I guess this is a good kick to migrate to OAuth.

Verified with our RADIUS admins, that their currently does not support TCP over TLS. Rely heavily (hundreds of devs and analysts) on Radius for DB auth. Have to test 19.28 then. As I read from docs SQLNET.RADIUS_TRANSPORT_PROTOCOL=udp is needed server side to keep old protocol.

Database level encryption may sound nice, but if you loose the key, you loose ALL database copies, including backups. This makes me quite uneasy. IT is all about compromises, if some solution solves everything and revolutionises things, it's marketing and can be just ignored.
