Mastadon feels like if Twitter and Discord did a fusion dance but they fucked it up and it became one of those ugly fusions that suck.

Actually starting is too confusing and complicated for social media. Each instance felt more like a private club than a public square. Lots of weird drama and history between instance moderators you felt like you had to learn. Weird arbitrary rules depending on the instance.

I joined mastadon for a week years ago and it was perhaps one of the worst experiences I've had trying to use social media.
